A depressing but painfully accurate assessment of our plight. One thing I differ with you on is your “storm the castle on the hill” call to arms at the end. It was almost quaint. How so? The super-rich own all the biggest weapons as well as the mass media outlets they need (eg Fox News) to keep the masses brainwashed and deluded into believing that the big corporations are their friends who will create plenty of jobs once they overthrow all the costly social programs and environmental regulations that the evil “lib’ruls” have imposed on them. Fascism always arises from an unholy alliance between the super rich and the lumpen proletariat who will easily be goaded into taking up weapons to “make America great again” by removing the “yoke” of government regulation and taxation from the rich and powerful (and also imprisoning or exterminating the refugees who might compete for their jobs). But as fossil fuels are depleted, the prices of everything will spike so people will buy far less stuff. And all the money that accrued at the top will steadily lose its value, even as their profits decline from the inability to sell their inventories. Money, after all, is only arithmetic
