All those arguing back and forth about who are the rightful owners of the Levant based on a long history of warfare, invasions, etc. from all sides need to chill out.

Let's look at today: an advanced European-style civilization with an impressive array of accomplishments, backed by huge infusions of money and weapons from the US and elsewhere is currently conducting a genocidal carpet-bombing of a tiny, overcrowded refugee colony with closed borders on three sides and the Mediterranean Sea on the fourth.

Israelis were, to be sure, victims of an appallingly barbaric genocidal raid on innocent civilians, perpetrated by fanatical zealots. But that does NOT justify the mass murder of civilian men, women, and children, exceeding 10 times the number of Israelis who perished in the initial raid. Two wrongs never have, and never will, make a right. They only create more bloodshed, more hatred, and more war. If Netanyahu believes he can "destroy Hamas" by reducing Gaza to rubble, he his criminally deluded, for he is only creating millions more Palestinian sympathizers throughout the world--exactly what Hamas wants to swell their own ranks of fanatics.

Here is a modest suggestion (which will no doubt be ignored by all concerned): Why not declare a ceasefire, lay down your weapons, and negotiate, (with any clearheaded, honest people remaining on both sides) an equitable peace that begins with a declaration--something like the following: "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men (humans) are created equal, [with] inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, secured by [one or more governments] deriving their just power from the consent of the governed." But Nooo...that's far too "woke"! Ethnic Hatred and self-righteous violence are far more fun!
