Amen, brother. Biden has been the greatest president we’ve had since Roosevelt, but the operant word here is the verb: “has been.” The most dignified thing he can do right now is to retire, and pass the torch on to whoever makes the most persuasive bid to the delegation. That was, of course, the original (and only legitimate) purpose of political conventions! There is no reason we cannot bring it back! Whatever our divisions on policy, we are united under one overriding imperative: STOP TRUMP and SAVE DEMOCRACY!
