An elegant and precise metaphor for our current plight. Collectively, it’s too late for “us” in the global market economy: die-off is now inevitable. So the question shifts from what can WE do (that we won’t, because all the financial incentives point toward business as usual, and hence collapse) but rather, what can You and I do, starting today, to prepare to survive collapse? And my answer is always the same: learn and teach Permaculture, and heal and create Gaia (a symbiotic future) as best we can, starting where we are by growing gardens, growing community, and growing awareness. You have made a valuable contribution to the latter, for which I thank you.
