As always, I am touched by your candor and moral passion, and I am with you, entirely, about the pernicious folly of calling for "peace negotiations" with a delusional fascist invader who is trying to erase your nation and culture altogether by bombing and terrorizing civilians and committing unimaginable atrocities daily on innocent people. Ironically, I also agree with the respondent who cited Smedley Butler's polemic that "war is a racket;" a truth also reflected in Bob Dylan's timeless song "Masters of War."

Still, we can't do business with Putin--even if we once thought we could. No less than Hitler, he is now the enemy of civilization, of humanity, of life itself, in his strident, hateful paranoia, tyranny, brutality, and imperial aspirations. Peace will only be possible when he is overthrown, and succeeded by a new regime ready to withdraw from Ukraine, embrace the principles embedded in the UN Charter, guaranteeing sovereignty to all member states--and re-establish a genuine democracy, while paying reparations to Ukraine for all the damage they have inflicted. Until that day, sadly, you have no option but--with the full support of the civilized world, to fight for your right to exist.
