Based on the historical record of industrial civilizations thus far in their interactions with indigenous cultures, I do not blame the Sentinel Islanders in the slightest for killing us on sight rather than having any commerce with us! Indigenous people in New England, Virginia, and everywhere else made the mistake of initially trusting us and even bringing us food and teaching us useful survival skills, and what did they get in return? Genocide, displacement from their land, pandemics, and deliberate erasure, among the scant survivors, of their cultural identity. We would be better to show some respect for the Sentinel Islanders by leaving them alone!
