Beautifully written! Thank you for sharing this compelling and precise assessment. Unfortunately, as Bob Dylan once said, “Most people don’t do what they believe in; they just do what’s most convenient and then they repent.” This could be the epitaph of human civilization—UNLESS… we find self-replicating methods of making ecologically responsible behavior more convenient than our current blatantly irresponsible behavior (e.g. plastics, private gas-guzzling cars, and suburban sprawl…).
