But what do you mean by "revolution"? The word is sexy, and gets the adrenaline flowing, especially in young people. But its meanings are vague, and often deceptive. Is carrying banners and yelling in big crowds of likeminded folks "revolution"? Hardly. It's already getting old, and corporate mass media tend to ignore such events altogether, unless they turn violent, which then enables right wingers to demonize protesters and pass draconian new bills branding them as "terrorists" and turning loose the big guns--first tear gas, then tasers, then mass arrests, then bullets. Good luck with that!
Or is revolution outright violence and sabotage? "Storming the castle on the hill" and seizing the reins of power? Again, fat chance. THEY have all the money, and therefore all the power. And even the violent "storm the castle on the hill" type revolutions that have occurred historically (i.e. France, Russia, China, Cuba) have not gone well-they usually displace economic tyranny with political tyranny. And then people get weary of that, and corporations take over again,,,
So what's left? Start where we are. Grow gardens, grow community, grow awareness. Relocalize everything, as much as possible. Unplug from consumerism and the money economy, as much as possible. Learn, teach, heal, create. And be ready--when the next fire, flood, drought, or famine hits, to stay alive, and help others do likewise, as long as you can.
