Congratulations on your award, Daniel. Your visionary thinking is much needed these days. But we also need, I think, to "step it down" from the elevated discourse of sophistication, abstraction, allusiveness, and generalization that are the common currency of academics (and I too am one, albeit retired) to language that is easily grasped by ordinary people. Hence, the simple slogan I have adopted for my own communications with others and with the world: Grow Gardens; Grow Community; Grow Awareness. This simple triad of injunctions can lead ordinary folks, from the ground up, toward the vision of a regenerative human culture that is symbiotic with, rather than parasitic upon, Gaia--a vision we both cherish.
