I agree entirely, Anthony. That is why I have been training myself to do three seemingly contradictory things: (1) cultivate inner equanimity and compassion; (2) resist tyranny mindfully, strategically, and relentlessly; (3) push back, as much as I can, against global ecological collapse, by growing gardens, growing community, and growing awareness. I plan to pursue these three initiatives until my last breath, when I return to compost! I have even arranged for a composting burial with Recompose.com, so that I will live according to my principles, even after I return to compost. These aspirations enable me to maintain--if not hope, then at least determination, and a sense of humor, about it all.
