I agree entirely. National borders are nothing more than mental formations, created by past tribal power struggles to create a temporary armistice until one tribe gains the economic or military power to redraw the borders in their own interests. Thus ALL the national borders in Africa were drawn by rival European powers, not by indigenous Africans. Ditto for both state and national borders in North and South America alike. I’m completely with John Lennon when he sang “Imagine there’s no countries; it isn’t hard to do/Nothing to kill or die for, and no religion too.” He was not saying that people could not have a religion, however. The syntax makes it clear that he opposes religious as a well as national boundaries “to kill or die for.” Which is exactly what Jesus said when he said “Love your enemies; bless them that curse you…”
