I agree entirely, Lynn. Any form of censorship is abhorrent in a free society, with the obvious (and frequently affirmed in common law) exception of speech acts or visual rhetoric that cause actual harm—whether threats, libel, or conspiracy to defraud. The best antidote to the social pathologies that afflict our nation, in my view, is a sustained education, K-12 and beyond, in critical thinking and critical inquiry, infused into every discipline. At its simplest, this takes the form, in response to any claim we make, of the willingness to ask or to answer two questions: (1) What do you mean by [keyword]? (2) Why should I believe what you are saying about it? (That is, what is your evidence?). This goes right back to Socrates!
