I agree entirely with your analysis, but I reject your suggestion that we respond in kind, with threats or acts of violence.

The MAGAts have a whole lot of guns, to be sure, but not a whole lot of smarts.

There will be violence, to be sure, but their violence will be sporadic and stochastic, not coherent nor strategic.

Our law enforcement authorities need to be encouraged to do their job, to be sure--arresting and arraigning these thugs, as they have with the January 6 thugs. And the rest of us need to remain vigilant, but defiant, exposing their lies and speaking truth to power fearlessly, but not shooting back at them literally.

Hatred is a form of subjective involvement with the hated object--we become our own enemies when we resort to their tactics. Instead, we need to stay calm, witness to truth and justice, and make energetic progress in the good, rather than exhausting ourselves trying to fight an evil cult.
