I agree entirely with your stark diagnosis of our current plight and your impossible recommendations for policymakers, which we both know will never see the light of day. That being the case, all we can do is start from the bottom up with an invitational approach--inviting our neighbors to join us in growing gardens, growing community, and growing awareness. While this will not cure the cancer of the Earth (i.e. our zero-sum money economy and our self-defeating nationalism and arrogance), at least this local approach will increase the odds that a few scattered communities, here and there, have cultivated enough resilience and insight to survive the inevitable collapse. If not, we will die doing the right thing, and there is something to be said for that.
