I agree. In fact ALL afterlife mythologies are just that--mythologies. If you scan the world's mythic accounts of what happens to our "souls" after death, you will find a total divergence of narratives. Conversely, if you drill down and ask the wisest seers of any religious tradition what is most important while we are alive, the answer will invariably be some variation of the golden rule--take care of others as you would have them take care of you. On that, we all agree--on the question of life after death, we all disagree. Because it's all balderdash. Like every other living thing, when we die, our consciousness vanishes, and we are recycled into new life, starting with bacteria, fungi, and worms. That's all--and that's fine with me.
