I agree. New York is wonderful— if you happen to be part of the upper-middle-class who can still afford to travel, to eat Vietnamese lobster at fancy restaurants, to stay in hotels, and to attend concerts or opera. But what about the Vietnamese fishermen who are desperate because the huge factory ships of the commercial fishing industry have caught and shipped all the lobster and other popular seafood to places far away, like your restaurant in Manhattan? Did it never occur to you that the comfortable lifestyle that most of us in the educated middle class enjoy comes at the expense of the vast majority of the people on our planet and the bioregions that once sustained them. Wake up and smell the smoke!
