I agree with everything you said, on the whole. Even if this belligerent moron has not yet massacred whole crowds, shut down the free press, or opened up any gas chambers, he is moving steadily and relentlessly in that direction. But a violent response at this critical moment is utterly futile and counterproductive--and will lead only to more civil strife, hatreds, neofascist death squads, and the disintegration of civil society into unimaginable horror and chaos.
