I agree with your critique of technocratic top-down approaches to saving humanity , but your solution is yet another top-down approach to saving humanity. How much net energy is needed to build out a nuclear infrastructure and where would that net energy come from? Fossil fuels, of course. And then, once built and operating, what will you do with all the nuclear waste? For a true bottom-up approach, try growing vegetables in your own backyard, and then building coalitions of neighbors to do likewise, share skills, labor, and ideas, and thereby grow community and grow awareness as well. And use the existing digital infrastructure--while it lasts--to disseminate THAT idea and make it go viral...
