I applaud you for writing a sober, thorough, and justifiably outraged account of this appalling barbarity by Hamas, without succumbing to the simplistic good-guy/bad-guy logic of either Islamophobes or anti-Semites. Evil is evil, no matter who perpetrates it, and while all-out war is sometimes necessary to extirpate a malignancy as foul and bloody as Hamas, we must all be on guard against succumbing to outright hatred and bigotry. As Bob Dylan memorably put it,

"While some warn victory, some downfall,

Private reasons, great or small

Can be seen in the eyes of those that call

To make all that should be killed to crawl.

While others say 'Don't hate nothing at all

Except HATRED..." So I join you wholeheartedly in hating hatred!
