I deeply admire Liz Cheney as a woman of outstanding moral courage, eloquence, and integrity. So I hope she takes your sound advice. I fully support any initiative that would neutralize the toxic cult of Trump that has hijacked the Republican Party.

However, I would never vote for her; she’s a dyed-in-the-wool right winger, pro-corporate, anti-labor, anti-environment, pro-military industrial complex, who does not believe that government can or should do anything to alleviate poverty or hardship of ordinary people through health care reform, livable wages, or housing, or to prevent the ongoing destruction of our planet from burning fossil fuels. Trump is the flowering of the toxicity in the American right, but that toxicity has its roots in Joe McCarthy, Ronald Reagan, Newt Gingrich, and Fox News.
