I don’t pretend to have anything like the expertise to understand or evaluate your arguments, but I clearly sense that you are right about hydrogen investment being a giant boondoggle. The basic reason is simple: EROEI. The energy cost, including embodied energy, of producing, storing, safely transporting hydrogen as a fuel vastly exceeds the energy return. And there is only one available source for the huge investment of net energy necessary to build out a hydrogen infrastructure: fossil fuels, which are already heating up our global atmosphere and causing climatic fibrillations which are wreaking havoc on our agriculture and our sustaining ecosystems. There is no substitute for fossil fuels to power a complex global industrial civilization, yet fossil fuels are destroying our biological support system. That is our predicament in a nutshell.
