I entirely agree, ethically, with your assessment: the need for total embrace of everyone’s humanity and “liberty and justice for all.” However, your projections of future demographic trends overlook one glaring fact: our total dependence on an intact biosphere with a stable, predictable climate and abundant net energy, topsoil, watersheds, and biodiversity. But all these are directly threatened by the grim trifecta of global heating, fossil fuel depletion, explosive population growth, and a global market economy that depends on infinite growth of extraction, production, consumption, and population on a finite planet with an already overstressed biological support system. When our runaway population feedback loop runs up against these biophysical limits, our global population will collapse catastrophically.
