I fear the "Civil War" has already begun. Trump has already clearly indicated that as president, he will serve only his supporters, and regard everyone else as "the enemy within." And enemies, as opposed to opponents, can and should be annihilated, in his view.

So now he has announced that Liz Cheney--a lifelong dyed-in-the-wool conservative republican--is "in big trouble" for the "crime" of denouncing him after his attempted violent coup to disrupt the certification of a free and fair election, and then of serving on the Congressional Committee that researched and presented the overwhelming evidence against him.

She has committed no crime at all, other than loyalty to the constitution--yet he wants to haul her before a "military tribunal" (headed, no doubt, by Pete Hegseth) and then--what? A public execution? I wouldn't put it past him!

Civil war is absolutely horrible--the worst possible dilemma for a nation to find itself in--and generally results in more, not less, tyranny and oppression.

And the only alternative I know is the Gandhi-King-Mandela discipline of SATYAGRAHA--nonviolent noncooperation with evil, that is mindful, strategic, and relentless. That is where we are--our only hope. So I encourage everyone to study up on these three Satyagrahis (and others) and read excellent books on nonviolent strategies of defiance such as Gene Sharp's "From Dictatorship to Democracy." Read them, and then form small, trusted groups to discuss them--and to strategize accordingly! It will be a long, nasty struggle, but as Gandhi often said, Truth is indestructible, and tyranny always collapses, sooner or later...
