I generally agree, Lannie. An early baby boomer (1949) I was lucky to have a long life of unprecedented affluence and technological innovation, but now that’s all history. You are entirely right that the survivors of the upcoming global collapse (if any) will need to master a whole new set of rudimentary survival skills that are completely unknown to a lifelong egghead like me, who can scarcely find the right end of a screwdriver! So instead, until my death, my goal is to promote the formation of neighborhood garden guilds, where folks grow gardens, grow community, and grow awareness by learning, teaching, healing, and creating—and thereby—just possibly—sow the seeds of a.regenerative, eco centric, permaculture-based Gaian culture amid the smoldering ruins of our industrial consumer culture. Unfortunately, we are due for a cataclysmic global die-off before the resilient few survivors can start the healing process—if at all possible.
