I generally agree with you here, but I do not describe myself as an "atheist" for one good reason. How can one deny one's belief in some being that they cannot even define or describe? That is as feckless as affirming belief in some being that they can't even define or describe. I neither "believe" or "disbelieve" in "God" because I have no idea who or what "God" is. And I am very skeptical of anyone who claims to know God, or know that God does not exist, without defining what they mean. My own general take on this is that "Gpd" is just a convenient personification of the Sacred. Or, as Heraclitus once said, "That which is wise is One. It is both willing and unwilling to be called by the name of "Zeus" (Or "God" or "Allah" or...whatever.) Ironically, the accusative form of the name "Zeus" as it appears in the original quote is "Zen."
