I sort of see his point, however. Those of us of European (and therefore Christian) cultural heritage are naturally attached to the iconography and architectural styles of our own ancestors, and so a wave of immigration of those from another religious culture, setting up their own institutions and architectural forms in our towns and villages, is bound to be a bit unnerving to us. Unfortunately, the current, increasingly chaotic state of our world due to both climate destabilization and political conflict pretty much guarantees that vast numbers of people worldwide will seek to escape their parched and dangerous homelands for places farther north and closer to the intact centers of social stability economic power (e.g. Europe and North America) in order to survive and raise their families. And none of this has anything to do with beliefs, or lack thereof...
