I was enjoying your essay until you repeated this tired old cliche about the human brain. In fact our brains, like those of all mammals and many birds, are quite malleable, developing new and complex neural pathways in response to whatever conditions we find ourselves in. So the idea that our brains are permanently stuck in the hunter-gatherer modality of early hominids is pure balderdash!
