I wish I could share your hopes. I cannot, however. We have already blown past innumerable tipping points—methane release, loss of Albedo, coral die-offs, insect population collapses, unprecedented wildfires etc.—all leading to self-accelerating runaway feedback loops that will continue to heat our global climate even if we stopped using fossil fuels tomorrow.

So what can we do? Grow gardens, grow community, grow awareness. The more of us who have learned how to grow our own food and collaborate with our immediate neighbors to exchange ideas, skills, and produce, the more resilient we will be as our global infrastructures collapse. If anyone survives, it will be those of us who have learned to work together with our neighbors, learning, teaching, healing, and creating…
