I would agree entirely that both parties have gone off the rails in their obsessions with identity politics and wedge issues (intended to exacerbate divisions) like abortion, guns, and gay marriage or so-called “CRT”—that have little to do with actual governance. But the evidence is clear from the last decade or so that republicans have given up entirely on bipartisan problem solving and have locked on to demonizing their opponents and seeking power at any cost, coupled with abject loyalty to a seditious criminal psychopath. This is no longer a respectable political party, but a dangerous fascist cult.
