If the "new emerging left" does not learn to get on board when it matters most, and to accept the fact that politics is, was, and always has been the art of compromise--of coalition building with people who may have different priorities--then you will render yourselves irrelevant long before you gain any actual power. I would LOVE to see AOC run in 2028, 2032, or thereafter (assuming we still have a democracy then, and that our planet has not yet been fried to a crisp in the meantime!) But in the short run, the absolute imperative is to get rid of Trump--or else all else will be lost forever.
