I'm all for switching to renewables...except that building them out at scale to maintain our current levels of industrial affluence would require a huge investment of available net energy--and the only current source for this is fossil fuels! Perhaps we should start looking at more modest solutions, such as relocalizing our commerce and agriculture, carbon sequestration in topsoil through regenerative agriculture, and downsizing our bloated consumer economy by growing gardens, growing community, and growing awareness...
