In nature, when a rich new source of energy becomes available, a feeding frenzy ensues, populations increase exponentially, until the resource is exhausted. Then they all die off, or at least die back to a level that can be sustained by what’s left of their ecosystem. The same fate -awaits humanity, I fear.
