I’ve enjoyed—and at times have been terrified by— your astute analysis of the ongoing corporate takeover of our political landscape and the unnerving rise of illiberal “techno-fascism.”
But one topic missing (so far) in your analysis and recommendations is the imminent threat of the “polycrisis” caused by the fundamental incompatibility of an economy based on infinite expansion of production and consumption of commodities—and a finite and deeply threatened planet, due to global heating, resource depletion, population growth, topsoil destruction, vanishing aquifers, and ubiquitous pollution. How can democracy survive on a dying planet, swarming with desperate refugees?
