Neither Gandhi nor MLK, nor Mandela, nor Wangari Matthai, nor Vaclav Havel were "completely ignored." Satyagraha is not merely "nonviolence"--it is nonviolent refusal to cooperate with evil--by whatever means are most strategically effective. As Gandhi always maintained, nonviolence is a form of warfare which, if anything, requires more courage than violence. Conversely, Violence only begets an endless cycle of mutual hatred and more violence.
