Now that you’ve vented your spleen, what’s next? It seems that a paroxysm of righteous indignation and bitterness can really lead to two possible outcomes: (1) more rage and depression, leading to a downward spiral toward violence or suicide—OR—(2) acceptance—that overshoot is always followed by collapse and die-off, and now that the bill is coming due on the feeding frenzy triggered by the discovery and exploitation of fossil fuels, those of us who survive the inevitable die-off will be—not the angriest—but rather, the most resilient, clear-headed, and compassionate. I hope you can see through your rage to become part of the solution…
