Now you’re making sense. I agree entirely that “Shrew” should not be taught to HS students. In fact I’d go further: the only Shakespeare play that is suitable for kids that age is Romeo and Juliet. With their own raging hormones, they can readily relate to that. The rest of his plays are more suited to college-level. And I also feel that in HS, kids should first watch a good film version of any play they read—like Zeffirelli’s R & J or Branagh’s Much Ado. These excellent films might motivate them to pay closer attention to the text thereafter…
