OK, let’s have that conversation. Most of what you say is projecting on us exactly what Trump is saying and doing; stirring up hatred and fear for “the other,” lying relentlessly, etc. One example of this projection is the term “Trump derangement syndrome” to describe all of us who are appalled at Trump’s vicious, hateful diatribes, his unabashed criminality, his treasonous behavior on January 6, 2021, his vindictiveness, his dictatorial aspirations, etc. This is a monumental example of gaslighting, which seems to be the modus operandi of Trump and his apologists everywhere—the implication being that all of Trump’s pathological. hateful, and corrupt behavior is just in our imagination—that normal, decent, caring people are the ones who are “deranged.”
