Ouch! This was painful to read, but entirely accurate, I'm afraid. Deeply rooted denial, faced with overwhelming counterevidence, can turn into insanity. And that is what we're seeing, all around us. All we can do is take refuge among the awakened, or--as the delusional right wingers spit out--the "woke." (I find it highly ironic that the latest generic Republican sneer word is actually a synonym (in African American dialect) for "awakened."
