Our imminent extinction may well be the case, given current trends in climate heating and human greed and stupidity as well; I don't know for sure, nor does anyone else, since no one can predict the next fact, much less the next 30, 50, or 100 years.

Therefore, I still hold out for something that might just trigger a runaway feedback loop (enabled, no doubt, by social media) whose net result might be the spontaneous remission of the Cancer of the Earth (i.e. "Glomart" or the fossil-fuel-driven and money-based global market economy). The odds of this happening are vanishingly low, of course, but given the nature of complex adaptive systems, not impossible. Therefore, I plan to spend the rest of my days (and in my Seventies now, they are few) doing my best to become an agent of spontaneous remission of the Cancer of the Earth--that is, a Gaian, living in the present moment, growing gardens, growing community, and growing awareness...
