Avoiding the reality of the climate crisis will make it worse, while wallowing in gloom and dread can serve as a wake-up call for some, but also lead to psychic numbing and denial—like yours. The best approach is a middle way that acknowledges the urgency of the global crisis, but proposes viable options for both adaptation and mitigation—like permaculture, aka regenerative agriculture, reforestation, relocalization of commerce, etc.
