I’ve always admired your talent for traversing both the scientific/rational (left-brain) and mythic/shamanic (right brain) levels of reality with such ease and grace. It seems that most of us are stuck in one or the other…I am reminded of a talk I once heard from Paula Gunn Allen, a Native American poet and scholar, at the U of O many years ago. As she discussed the various political struggles faced by her Southwestern people against mining interests, et al, she could similarly shift seamlessly between scientific and mythic ways of seeing. To mark the transition, she would simply say, “There is a sacred explanation for this as well…”
