Thank you for sharing this, Thomas. Having once been young, lonely, and envious myself, I can assure you that it does not last forever. I am now old, married 30+ years, and happier than I’ve ever been, despite my (mostly) solitary life, and my keen awareness that our entire civilization is doomed to a catastrophic decline and collapse. The secret? Breathing, observing, and letting go. Of what? Of wishing things were other than they are. And cultivating gratitude, compassion, selfless joy, and equanimity.
