Thank you for sharing this vital information on the allure and dangers of pesticides. Unfortunately, monocultures are the most efficiennt way by far of producing food at scale to feed billions, but monocultures also require pesticides and herbicides, since they are fundamentally unnatural; a monocultural field is like an "all you can eat for free" sign hung out to any and all insects who crave that nutrition, in order to breed! As a direct result of our addiction to toxic pesticides, we are poisoning the planet, causing a crash in insect populations worldwide, and thereby destroying the future (by ensuring worldwide famine for all future generations) in order to feed our present multitudes--a classic case of overshoot and collapse. I see no solution to this predicament--other than widespread adoption of permaculture principles and practices!
