But it has no experiential “understanding” of what these words meanBut this is just an algorithmic procedure, however complex—all boiling down ultimately to 1’s and 0’s. These systems do not “know” anything. Their recent devolution into random word salad is inevitable, and ironically, the more complex they become, the greater likelihood of such complexity catastrophes will be. Only the credulous believe that these systems have any “mind” at all. It’s all a hallucination.
