Thank you, Steve, for this lucid and insightful assessment of our global plight,. When people ask me "What can we do now?" after reading such compelling bad news, my response these days is always the same:

"Grow gardens, Grow Community, Grow Awareness--by learning, teaching, healing, and creating...Gaia."

We LEARN Gaia by growing gardens (i.e. studying Permaculture);

We TEACH Gaia by growing community (starting by chatting with our neighbors);

We HEAL Gaia by growing awareness (and getting involved with community decision-making processes);

and we CREATE Gaia by replicating all of the above, and doing whatever we can to make it go viral.
