Thanks again, Will, for the clarity of your insights. Unfortunately, I see no way out of this morass, since cheap net energy (from fossil fuels--the only available source thereof) is the foundation of our global market economy. And since money is a zero-sum game, it follows that as the (fossil fuel based) economy expands and our global life support system collapses, wealth will concentrate into fewer and fewer hands. We are perilously close to a global die-off of unimaginable proportions, as the overheated climate ceases to support agriculture. Mass starvation and heat stroke will first wipe out billions in the global South, then move northward. And once the ice sheets of Greenland and Antarctica collapse, cities all over the planet will be inundated, causing a mass, panic-stricken migration inland. The resulting political chaos will be an open invitation to toxic, corporate-funded demagogues like Trump, Putin, and Modi seizing the reins of power everywhere. It's not a future I would wish for my worst enemies, yet we are guaranteeing it for our children and grandchildren!
