These are excellent examples of what Orwell identified, long ago, as fascist doublespeak. The irony is apparent in the fact that (1) Liz Cheney is demonized as a "RINO" even though she has been a dyed-in-the-wool conservative her entire life, and (2) "WOKE," which began as a compliment in the African American community for people "awakened" to systemic racism, has become an all-purpose term of abuse for everyone that right-wingers despise--even though they cannot define it. A good example of "dogwhistle" racism. (They used to use the term "Politically Correct" in the same way--a term originating among doctrinaire communists--to suggest that anything "liberal" is a form of "communism.") When people accuse me of being "woke" I immediately respond, "It's a lot better than being asleep!"
