This article makes me glad I'm old. But I grieve for the young, especially the children, to whom we have bequeathed a short and hellish future. My only advice, as always, is to grow gardens, grow community, and grow awareness--as long as we can--by creating local Garden Guilds, that is, contiguous communities devoted to these goals, based on learning, teaching, healing, and creating. And maybe, just maybe, a few of us will survive to sow the seeds of a Gaian future, where the scattered remnants of humanity finally learn to live in a symbiotic, rather than parasitic, relationship to our shared biological support system, the living Earth!
