This is entirely accurate and well said. However, don't count on "World Leaders," either government or corporate, to do anything useful; they are entirely invested in the (utterly unsustainable) status quo of endless growth of production, consumption, and population--despite any pieties or promises they might spout about "mitigating climate change." For them, more is ALWAYS better--this assumption is built into the money system itself.

But what they cannot and will not do, we ourselves can and must do, lest we all die horrible deaths far sooner than any of us have anticipated. Here are three things we all can do that would be enormously useful: Grow Gardens, Grow Community, Grow Awareness. And, in the process, vote with your dollars--every dollar we spend is a "vote" for the producers, the processes, and the (potentially toxic) materials in the products we buy. Therefore with every dollar we spend, we can ask three simple questions: (1) "Do I really need this?" (2) To whom and for what is the money I spend for this product going? (3) Does this product constitute a responsible and reusable use of our planet's resources? This translates into buying local, buying recycled and recyclable, and buying less. Instead, we must devote our time and energy to learning, teaching, healing, and creating Gaia--if we are to have any chance of a future on the only living planet we will ever know.
