This is rubbish. Bjorn Lomborg is widely seen as a corporate shill, and nothing more. Vaclav Smil (whom I have read in depth) knows a great deal about engineering, technology, and material sciences, but very little about climate science or complexity theory; he tends to avoid the climate predicament rather than fully acknowledging it. Where the laws of thermodynamics are concerned, there is only one truth, not many. And that truth is that the global atmospheric level of CO2 and Methane have nearly doubled in my lifetime (since 1949), spiking at a vastly faster rate than at any time in known geological history (with the possible exception of global catastrophes like the KT meteorite or the Toba super volcano). So enough of these platitudes!
